I’d never heard of her until the terrible attack in Manchester happened. However, tonight I switched BBC1 on for the news and caught the end of her benefit concert – and goodness! She’s seriously good!!
Wonderful to see all those young people gathered together and well done her for making it happen.
Watching the end of that followed by the news with all those personal accounts of last night's dreadful events, I ended up in tears ..... again. What a stupid, crazy world this is. All I can do is resort, as I always do, to the words in the script of West Side Story - these people are 'making this world rotten'.
She and the other performers and all attendees / staff were very brave tonight. I've never seen such solidarity. Facebook is dominated by messages in the same vein and defiance. A watershed moment approaches, I'm sure.
My OH put it on and I didn't expect to watch it, but I did watch it all and thoroughly enjoyed it. It was very moving too. I agree that Ariana Grande is really good, as are a lot of young singers and musicians today.
she puts all the primary school kids into the seventh heaven as Ariana is about 19 herself - and looks splendid and preens herself in a suitably girlie fashion
but golly she can sing
the High Five Primary school soloist wasnt up to it
and Ariana came in on key and at full blast on a rescue/salvage mission
the soloist then started crying but you know the song was saved and the show went on !
