Whilst looking randomly for laptop decals, I came across this artist and thought he was quite good: Greg 'Craola' Simkins, so thought I'd share with you if interested in the weird & wonderful. I used to look at paintings similar in style in a gallery in Liverpool when I was a child, but have never seen such classical talent in a 'newer' artist since - disclaimer, some of his work is quite rough (sculpture), but his painting and drawings are generally great - almost Salvador Dali-esque. Worth a google :-)

Cheers Chris for the link, and WOW! Spectacular! :-D
worth googling, Kurt Jackson, still living, from St Just, originals around £30-50k, but his seascapes stunning

This from his Scillies collection... http://legacy.lemonstreetgallery.co.uk/exhibitionImages/summer-exhibition-2012/KJ1573.jpg

Such wonderful and diverse talents - thanks for those.
It's always wonderful to discover new artists...I particularly liked the Sorolla, who I'd never heard of. Thanks for all of those.
Of the Simkins works, I rather like the almost all white depiction of what looks like an owl chick with blue ladybirds.
