right, I maybe confusing people. I meant to say the song is a completely different song but using west end girls as the basic backing track and then the new song is sung over it. ( a bit like puff daddy,s I,ll be missing you which was actually " every break you take" by the police.

thanks mamyalynne.................but sorry that's not the one. the only lyrics I could pick up on repeatedly were........." to the beat of the drum"..............
Unless it's something very brand new,

https://www.whosampled.com/Pet-Shop-Boys/West-End-Girls/sampled/

these are the 10 tracks that have West End Girls as a sample, but I've listened to them all and can't hear anything with the lyric you mentioned...
There was a dance track (In the mid-90s)by The Ethics called To the beat of the Drum (La Luna) which fits the line, but WhoSampled do not list that as being sampled by anyone.

The mystery deepens.
The nearest "Bang to the Beat of the drum" song that i can found that vaguely has a "west end girls" type backing is this

But unless the sound was very low or the restaurant very nisy I doubt you'd have heard this a swest end girls. Oh and it's male so nothing like Little Mix
