ive got to go bed in a min (been up since 5 this morning)So a quick one to read later.
Just interested in hearing how long anyone started work and how long it took for them to feel as though they 'fitted in'?
Ive had jobs where I NEVER fitted in and others where I was 'flavour of the month' from day one.
At the moment (voluntary) I feel as though Im somewhere in between. Will give it a fair shot of the whip though.
Anyone had a job that they should have jacked in long before they did?
Conversley, anyone had a job that they persevered at and it turned out to be the right thing to do?
Thanks.

I worked for a (Now defunct) Sporting Goods firm for five years, and never felt like I fitted in. I was tolerated, barely. Felt like the Manager/Assistant Manager were looking for reasons to dismiss me (They never had one), and one of the Supervisors looked at me like I was something she'd just trodden in and ruined her expensive shoes. She seemed fine with everyone else. The Supervisor stayed, but the Management team changed (About three years in) and I never felt that fear again.

Sadly, that job ended in redundancy, so I never got the chance to consider my options, although I feel that if the first Management team had stayed there at the end then I wouldn't have been.
Takes a little while for any of us to feel comfy in a new environment Nails. How did the "others" take to you dya think. Some would be welcoming I suppose and some more guarded. Stayed in my last job too long. Should have taken an offer I had and moved on. The only reason I didn't is because I was getting on and couldn't be bothered to make the move. Still that is behind me now and I work for myself, busy doing nothing. You might get a load of stewed steak to clear up tomorrow, then you can shout Whale Oil Beef Hooked. (You will need an Irish accent to make it work) :))
Lol Togo.
I've only had 2 different jobs in my adult working life, both took about 2 years for me to feel really comfortable and know what I was doing. I loved them both (still doing one).
