pearl white lipstick from Boots Minors range... blue cream eyeshadow ....dogtooth check mini skirt...skinny rib sweater.. big dangly earrings...them were the days
I got my bottom length straight hair cut into a shaggy perm too about 78, the first perm of many to come. My outrageous boots were more 70s, huge platforms in bright yellow.
I don't know what it was about white shoes/boots but they always appealed. Likewise heels or wedges/platforms. Somehow, high heels were something to aspire to
My worst experience with boots in the 60s was when I worked in a snazzy shoe shop next door to a fabulous clothes shop.
The clothes shop was having a fashion show...we provided the footwear and I was asked to be a model....I did look very 60s.
Backstage in bra and knickers I was given a maxi coat and top of thigh length patent boots to model...that was fine and I strutted my stuff until the lady with the microphone said....
Gness will now remove her coat to show you how high these fantastic boots are...... :-(
Never had the white boots but lots of knee length black ones...x
I remember I persuaded my mum to let me have some platforms from Stead and Simpson. I don't know I managed to do that as my parents were quite conservative. It was in the summer of 1976. I was waiting at the bus stop with my Mum one day in the hot weather when I was wearing them and I passed out and cracked my head on the pavement. I had to go to hospital overnight with concussion. I`m sure I fell further due to the platforms.
I had a pair of black suede over the knees ones which I wore with a white mohair polo neck mini dress, used to get white fluff all over the boots.
And a pair of black patent lace up boots, and a pair of those white ones mamy mentioned which collapsed when you took them off.
