It'll be the music, not the paedophila. His music is still played very often, whereas, you'll never, every hear Gary Glitter's. He was never convicted, either, so there will always be folk that don't believe it.
I was never that interested in his music but it was always widely enjoyed and I expect people will still listen to it, as I still listen to Jonathan King's and Rolf Harris's.
Wagner is still rightly remembered for his wonderful music, but is also remembered for his anti-Semitism.
It is interesting that a non-convicted individual like Jackson still has his music played worldwide, but Gary Glitter's music is airbrushed from the collective consciousness, which is a shame, I would love to play his records at my discos, but haven't risked it yet.
neither was Jimmy Savile, I suppose, ummmm, but they don't repeat segments of TOTP that he was on, and I imagine most people would switch off if they did.
//Shamone comes from the Michael Jackson song "Bad" released in 1987. It is a distinctive deliberate mispronunciation of "come on" used frequently by Jackson, occasionally spelt "cha'mone", "jamone" or more commonly "shamone"...
