in the original Elton John recording of Rocket Man, the 4th line of the 1st verse was recorded by EJ (and presumably written by Bernie Taupin) as "I miss the earth so much I miss my wife".

in the Taron Egerton version recorded for the biopic "Rocketman", the word at the end of that line has been altered to "Life".

just a fiddling change - but why the need to mess with musical history?

The fact homosexuality was so frowned upon helped Elton into the darkest, most confused period of his career.
Presumably because he wasn’t the man they thought he was at home :-)

"but why the need to mess with musical history" - TROB cobras.
Airbrushing history for modern sensibilities.

I'm surprised the line wasn't changed to 'I miss the earth so much, I'm really really gay, and that's ok'.
I saw him tonight and I was wondering what he would sing this time and unless mt hearing was letting me down he sang "I miss the Earth so much I miss my wine"
"The film is not a true representation of his life"
Well Elton seems to think it is
