Can I Pair Bluetooth Headphones With My Sont Bravia Tv? Urgent Please!
2 Answers
I am new to all this but am fairly computer savvy. I currently use WIRED headphones to listen to my tv and plug them into the headphone socket on the rear tv panel which also has hdmi, usb and all other connection ports. When I do this the TV mutes automatically and I adjust the sound to suit my headphones on the TV remote.
What worries me is that if I buy a pair of good Bluetooth headphones and pair them to my new Sony Bravia tv how will it work? As my wife is reading and does not watch the tv, will the tv sound be always on to her or will it mute and I can adjust sound for my headphones only?
Sorry to seem obtuse but is my only option otherwise a wired headphone or one with it's own transmitter which seems very archaic.
Thanks everyone

If your TV doesn't support Bluetooth, you can buy a "dongle" (a Bluetooth transmitter - lots on Amazon) that plugs into your TV headphone socket and makes it Bluetooth-enabled. It pairs with your Bluetooth headphones and....away you go. I used such a gadget on my previous TV paired with the excellent Sony Bluetooth headphones and it worked very well. The sound will not emanate from the TV speakers, but you can adjust the volume you hear on the headphones.

Thanks Gingejbe this is most helpful! Have looked in my Sony Braviaa and you are right but setting the sound for headphones and again for TV watching only is a little confusing. Have found on Amazon the little 'box' you mentioned and this can be bluetoothed with a matching pair of headphones. The ones I like have no separate vol controls on them but presume I can just adjust the TV sound on the tv remote.
Will buy some this week! Thanks again
