Jeff Lynne had become a close friend of George Harrison and something of a confidante in the recording studio where Lynne showed a remarkable talent for editing out, or over dubbing mistakes and missed chords. Harrison, at one recording session said to the musicians present "don't worry Jeff will bury that". It became a bit of an in joke and then a clever moniker for a lot of the players who had heard the phrase before. True.
