Another original passes over. Toots had a very good voice that the reggae and ska didn't always showcase but he could sing. Look him up singing Dreams to Remember. Very Otis Redding like. He inspired many of the artistes that became famous for their music from Jamaica and the West Indies including Lee "Scratch" Perry, Prince Buster and the band that went on to be well known with Bob Marley...The Wailers. 54 46 was about his time in prison after he was jailed for 18 months for possession of ganga. He always maintained that he was arrested for bailing out a friend.....you get 18 month in jail now in Jamaica if you are caught without marijuana. :))

I remember way back when ordering this through Redifusion when they imported 45s if you paid in advance.....I was 17yrs old and had the only copy in Stoke On Trent. Don't know where it went.
