Another Bizarre Song!
I can vaguely remember hearing a song on the radio once which included the lyrics, "Isn't that the madman running through the fields? / Isn't that the madman, wonder how he feels?" and had lots of strange 'backwards' sound effects. Can anyone shed some light on what this song was, or am I just imagining I heard it?

The song was written by Zoot Money, he of the exotically named 'Dantalion's Chariot', who first recorded the song 'Madman Running Through The Fields'. Zoot went on to become a stalwart of the booming British club scene, with his more famous Big Roll Band. Zoot wrote the song with his guitarist of the time, one Andy Somers, who changed his name to Summers and joined The Police some years later.
Zoot and Andy joined Eric Burden's American-based 'New Animals' and they recorded and released a version of 'Madman' which is probably the one you've heard on the radio.
