I've often heard them referred to as 'scottish', but that's just rhyming slang and has no other meaning.
This is getting wayyyyyy off-topic and apologies for contributing to that.

I suggest that any further political comments are discussed in a separate thread.
What does it rhyme with?
No,we havent.The SNP,the Thatcher enablers.The Tartan Tories.Ha-***g-ha
The AB filter has intervened. The word I typed began with sw and rhymes with Betty.
Next time i will just report bobbinwales comment as either xenophobic or anglophobic.Save myself a lot of hassle.
I prefer the Thatcher enablers.Shame on you SNPers.
The term 'Tartan Tories' was coined by Labour when the SNP resurgence began in the 70s. At the time there was no indication of just how left-wing the SNP would become.
What you on about,JD.The SNP enabled Thatcher, they voted in Thatcher. The SNP have to take the whole blame for the rise of Thatcher. They have no excuses.
Well Bednobs, I bet you thought you were on safe ground asking about a song in the Music topic.
Not quite true. The SNP voted alongside the other opposition parties to defeat the government in a vote of confidence, already in a minority and on its last legs. If anything, all they did was bring forward the general election by 5 months. The people voted in Thatcher, not the SNP. You might just as well blame the Liberals, who also voted with the opposition.
Sorry,Mamy, but it was bobbinwales that started all the xenophobic stuff.bednobs had nothing to do with it.
Posts will end up being deleted if they remain off-topic...
I've already explained that, JD...
I have to disagree with you the ynnaf - although not a fan of 'Engerland' it's a common enough chant within context and did not deserve such a fuss.
I know but just as in the parable of The Sower, some seed falls on stony ground.
"some seed falls on stony ground."

So it seems.
I always though that Eng-er-land was just a written version of the football chant. Rather the opposite of xenophobic, it's rather self-depricating.
What a load of fuss ynnafimmi. You made it up about me using the term Jockland for Scotland. Never used the term in my life. Your confusing me perhaps with tora tora tora who uses the term that about socks
