What is the music used for the ad? It sounds familiar and similar to a tune from 10-15 years ago.

Hatsune Miku involved in the music I read.
//The attention to detail is matched only by the brilliant music which was created by renowned anime composer Kenji Kawai, famed for his soundtracking of seminal anime films such as Ghost in the Shell and Patlabor. “It was a great honour to write the music for the BBC’s coverage of the Olympic Games. I wanted to bring the excitement of Tokyo to the music using both traditional Japanese instruments and Minyo [singers], and modern ones like the virtual J-Pop singer Hatsune Miku,” he explains. “I hope everyone enjoys the music and feels the excitement of the Olympics in Tokyo!”//
I liked this as a kid, last time the Olympics was held in Tokyo.

Unfortunately, it's none of those. I'll need to watch the ITV ads thfoughout the day as I think it's for their Tokyo coverage.
I can't hear it right now but the other day I thought sounded like 'Barbie girl' in manderin.
Question Author
It's definitely not a variant of Barbie Girl, lol

The music is not Japanese themed.
Sometimes I love to be wrong, I've earwormed myself now... ;-)

BTW, I know Mandarin is a Chinese dialect before anyone says anything.

The tune is more of a Massive Attack genre and a bit hardcore.
Once I get sound sorted, I'll have a listen to above clip, I must be thinking of a different AD.
TonyAV; i was 9 year old when Tokyo last hosted the Olympics and i remember our class doing project on it. We cut out and pasted reports and photos from newspapers on to large sheets of 'cartridge' paper which were then stuck to the classroom walls. By the end of the Olympics, all 4 walls had been used and anyone could walk in and, from left to right, read the history of the '64 Olympics. The class was split into pairs and allocated certain events. Sadly, the only names that stick in my mind are silver medalist Bobby McGregor (Swimmer), long jump gold medalist Mary Rand and Anne Packer, who won 2 medals that year, gold in the 800m and silver in the 400.
Sorry for going 'off-piste' tigger.

The only time I've ever watched wall to wall Olympics was in 1984, Los Angeles. I was 13 and stayed up all night and slept during the day. Good job it was the summer hols.
