Why Do Songs Sometimes Get Stuck In Your Head?

When I listen to a song I can hear it playing in my head until I listen to a different song and then that new song replaces the other in my head. However, sometimes I can wake up in a morning and a song can be playing in my head and no matter how many songs I listen to during the day that one particular song just will not come out of my head. I could listen to twenty songs but that one song will still be in my head. Why is this and how can you stop it?

Get ear worms regularly. They usually go away when something else totally grabs your attention.
