They did not have a specific group name.It was simply listed as The Christians,Holly Johnson,Paul McCartney,Gerry Marsden and Stock ,Aitken and Waterman

Dr pop is right it was recorded under the name christians, holly johnson, paul mccartney,gerry marsden and stock aitken and waterman..and it went straight in at no1 in 89 recorded specially in the wake of the hillsborough disaster.

Gerry & The Pacemakers were the 1st band to have Number 1's with their 1st 3 hits.

G & The P version was called FERRY ACROSS THE MERSEY the version done in 1989 was called FERRY 'CROSS THE MERSEY!

They would have probably, no definately, used YOU'LL NEVER WALK ALONE for the Hillsborough disaster, if it hadn't been used 4 years earlier when it went straight to number 1 for The Crowd in the wake of the Heysel Stadium disaster.
