Chris Moyles gets his comeuppance

DJ Chris Moyles was irritating listeners on Car park catchphrase lately by asking his contestants if they would like to say hello to anyone and cutting them off just as they were about to talk and then he and his side kicks would guffaw loudly. Today he got his just deserts when 2 listeners cut him off. Best thing was they did not say anything rude (as it is tempting) but gave him his own medicine. Did anyone else feel that warm feeling of listener power and how it can be used to telling effect against egocentric chavs like Moyles?

Wish I had heard it... cant stand that guy or his cronies or his humour...I fail to understand why he is regarded as being so popular!

If i did not listen then how can i build a comparative hate profile in my mind.How will my brain know if something is annoying if it cannot compare it to something that has previously annoyed me in the past. Thus if i build in my mind a sliding scale of annoying things then the next annoying thing that comes along will then be compared against this scale and my brain will decide what to do with it. If all the scales were set to happy then there would be a system malfunction the next time mother in law drops by.

must say, I sometimes wonder Dom Tuk what is at the happy end of your scales... but it's listeners cutting off Chris Moyles. Exellent - and I'm glad you're getting some Christmas cheer!

Moyles is a small brained tw*t who relies heavily on ridicule and abuse, demeaning others to cover his own vast inadequacies. When he took the breakfast show slot over he was hailed as the saviour of Radio 1. Frankly, if he's the best they can offer then they deserve to go to the wall - and fast. I hate to think what over-inflated salary they pay this garrellous buffoon, personally I wouldn't give him the steam off my p*ss. He is typical of todays general acceptance of the sloppy and second rate and it's no wonder that the country is teeming with foul mouthed, insolent little yobs when they have Moyles as a role model. He thinks a bullying loud-mouthed style passes for humour. SACK HIM AND DO IT NOW. that's what I say.

He ****** me off so much I keep on getting up an hour late in the mornings because Moyles et al are all so intensly boring, (Well I suppose I should just change the station but I like most other things on radio 1)

Thats the thiong why the hell have they got their two most annoying and boring DJs (Moyles and Scott Miles) at the prime time slots. There are so many more better ones, Colin and Edith, Jo Whiley, Sara Cox, Zane Lowe are just a few.

For goodness sake Radio 1, wake up and switch of the inane crap that is unfortunately pollunting my mornings.

The cutting callers off gag is a longstanding joke. Whether you find the joke funny is of course down to personal taste but any regular listener that calls up knows it will happen.

Just curious DT, how do you know the listeners were irritated if they'd been cut off and were no longer on the airwaves? (Or did you mean to write "DJ Chris Moyles was irritating me"?)

I do think Moyles can be funny at times - although I can completely see how his humour would not be to everryones taste as it is particularly laddish and condescending!
