I'm posting this in Chatterbank as I know that some people here don't think that the Eurovision Song Contest actually counts as 'Music' ;-)

Here's this year's UK entry for the competition. Let's have your predictions for its success (or lack of it!), please ;-)

[For what it's worth, I don't think that it will finish bottom - but I don't think that it will finish top either!]

Perhaps one up from bottom, another loser. Why do we bother?
Not bad at all.
The chorus I felt was a bit of an anticlimax after the very melodic verses

No idea how it will do.
I feel we are heading for a repeat of 1944 in 2016
I think it counts as music but it doesn't count as a song contest. It's more a popularity contest among the EUSSR. Tell you what I'll predict the UK's score now, zero.
One of the great nights of the year Tora! bizarre music and costumes washed down with Graham Norton and red wine!
yes ich, I used to watch it when it was a song competition.
Hmmmm.....not sure how you'll do, Chris but I quite like the chap....lovely profile especially with the man-bun. I love man with long hair....Dave take note.
Haven't seen ours yet but I hope not another turkey....not that we want the expense of winning again....and again... ;-)
Not a bad voice, I enjoyed the first 30 seconds then it was all downhill.
Costumes, Norton and Guinness here, Ich.
I think there's a fair chance it'll do better than the last few years. Europe has a new enemy now.
Oh Lord! Just found ours, Chris. Seems to be a girl in pyjamas....won't be winning this year. :-)

Thanks for all the posts.

>>> I love man with long hair

I usually save my long blond wig for Saturday nights (with the high heels and sequinned dress) but I'll wear it at other times for you though, Gness ;-)

My prediction is that the Irish entry won't win but it will, at least, finish ahead of the UK one. What's wrong with girls in pyjamas, anyway?
;-)

it's out of UK and Russia for the bottom slot then!

You'll be fine in that in any of our village pubs, Chris. We are very tolerant. We were in our local with family when a man in a lion's costume...complete with huge mane and very long tail...came in, sat at the bar with a pint and a meal, paid and left and nobody gave him a second look.
Dave agrees that there's nothing wrong with a girl in pyjamas.....now he tells me!
Don't even think of buying me that, Dave...the seams don't match properly.
19:04, damn I'd hoped we'd have country more unpopular than us in it!

LOL @ TTT ;-)

It's got to be satin for Gness, surely, Dave?

It's not bad actually.

Can't remember the last time I watched Eurovision. Well over 10 years ago though.

When was the last time the UK got above nil points and what was the reason for the subsequent nil point? I remember it being a political one but forgotten what it was.
