Maybe your doctor could refer you to a speech therapist.

doc only does video & cant hear me. Cant talk on phone, call pets etc. Fed up with banging pots & sticks for attn. No food = no bowels :(

Could you email your doctor? If not do you have a friend who could speak to the doctor on the video for you? You can hear so could write the answers on a pad for your friend to relay to the doctor.
If you can't communicate with the doctor or get to the surgery then go to A&E.

Tambo, I'm sure it's not the end.
I had this once and GP diagnosed laryngitis .
After having it for 3/4 weeks, he referred me to ENT and I was told I had vocal chord paralysis.
It did clear up on it's own eventually, but you should have been referred by your GP if you've had it this long.

My opinion hasn't changed from the thread that you have quoted in your OP.

I think, from what you have said is that your symptoms are psychosomatic and there is no structural cause for concern.

Functional aphonia may go on for months , but could be helped by speech therapy as suggested by carott99.

No easy answer and no easy fix.
