The advert for these guys seems so bland and talentless and someone mentioned to me the other night how great they are but I just can't see it.

IMO it's just watered down boy-band esque stuff.

Anyone else agree?

i quite like them, i like the new song working for the cash machine and the video is good too. does anyone have the album? whats it like?

The songs I have heard - the singles only - tend to make me agree with you. However, I haven't heard the album - would be interesting to hear the opinion of someone who has. They are sort of maroon 5 ish - I can't stand that band!

The album is excellent, and they are a fabulous live band. Trust me, i know what I'm talking about!

Maroon 5 are astonishingly different to Hard-Fi. Wheras Maroon 5 peddle a bland, over polished, over produced line in coffee-table rock, Hard-Fi have produced an album that is the mouthpiece for 90% of young people who live and work for a weekend where they can escape mindless jobs and enjoy themselves. Boy band couldn't be wider of the mark.

Having said that, buy The Rakes album "Capture/Release" if that is the sentiment that your looking for
