Have just been to the coast although couldn’t let Littlelegs off to run as dogs are banned between May 1st and September 30th, the amount of people going in the sea both to swim and to surf were loads, sadly no waves for the surfers but it certainly wasn’t swimming weather, one girl in a bikini too, brrrr

My husband's sister and brother in law have been swimming in the sea in Suffolk. They said it was wonderful but I wasn't convinced.
I was watching an episode of Rick Stein in Cornwall
where there is a large group of ladies who swim in the sea every single day of the year regardless of weather or temperature. I could never do that.

This is the NORTH sea ….:0/
The surfers in wet suits , yes but a bikini ? Brrrrr
I couldn't either - but then again I can't swim :-))
These ladies weren’t surfing or in wetsuits. They were in swimsuits.
I never understand why people can’t swim, Margo. Are you nervous of being in the water?

I’m not a sea swimmer , more a pool one
Neither of my parents could swim and we never went on holiday when I was a child. The first time I ventured abroad on holiday with my friend I got thrown in the deep end of the pool by the life guard and very nearly drowned so no I am not a great lover of the water Naomi. I did actually learn to swim in my twenties but I like to feel the ground under my feet

I can’t tread water :0(
Your buoyancy aids may need inflating then?
That must have put you off for life, Margo. I think anyone can swim as long as they’re not nervous if the water. I love it.
Margo, I had a similar experience and can’t swim. I tried learning as an adult but just didn’t have the confidence to do it.
My dad was one of a large group who went swimming on Christmas morning every year. No wet suits just the occasional Santa suit!
The only reason I learnt was to be able to go in the water with my son and OH on holiday and I never really enjoyed the water but would get in the pool to cool down. My son went on to become a county level swimmer so we spent many hours in swimming pools watching him train and compete
The gulf stream 'licks' that end of Cornwall, and makes it subtropical

Serving on Tankers, no land for hundreds of miles.I was glad that I could swim. Nowhere to swim to, but it’s the thought that counts:-)
Haha! It does, David.

A dive boat in the Red Sea once left without a few of us. We had our jackets on obviously so we were buoyant, but miles off shore it was a bit hairy for a while. Fortunately someone noticed we were missing and they came back for us before too long.
