While many of you may have heard about the infantile sexist rascist etc abuse from the Max Verstappen stand at last Sundays race I find it very suprising that fans there are allowed to take orange flares into the track. At times it was very hard for viewers let alone the drivers to see where they were going.

[ I agree that the number of flares and consequent density of smoke was a safety issue (medical helicopter anyone?) - but the authorities must have been complicit in allowing them in, presumably to increase the 'spectacle' ]
