The end of the Second Elizabethan Age. I am proud to have lived throughout it – I wonder how many Abers can say that.
An Age where the lovely Monarch appreciated her role as representing and serving her country and not attempting to interfere in its running (I wonder if her successor will be as neutral – not likely based on earlier behaviour, writing to MPs etc.).
I do believe Charles has already said he knows there is a world of difference between being a prince and a king and that he would not be interfering with the running of the country.
I agree with Ken. I've read that Charles knows full well that by becoming King, he has lost many of the freedoms of expression he's had previously. I see him as a thoughtful man who will give much consideration to what opinions he voices.
No part of the Royal family past or present will ever make any difference to my life. In fact theres been nothing but trouble within the Royal family since Di and charles. The tourism that the royals generate that many refer to dont either make any difference to me.
