should she retire?

Just watching her on Sky Arts. Since Fleetwood Mac broke up (and even before) she sings songs mainly about being dumped by the two men she went with in the group. It gets a bit boring!

Never found her remotely attractive - far too drippy/hippie, and her voice is annoying after a while. I think she would be very hard work.
You type well for someone with impaired vision.

Thousands in the audience but I can't watch (listen). She has some good tunes but the newer ones not so much. She's milking past glories - good luck to her I suppose.

the best bit was the light show before she came onstage!
I like Fleetwood mac, well their songs. Although Mick on drums is good Stevie Nicks will always be eye candy, and has a very distinctive voice.
Have to add I'm unfamiliar (Didn't know) about any new material.
She'll always get a piece at my door. :-)
singling out a few songs, like this one, but edge of seveteen, leather lace, gypsy to name a few are not about breakups..
fantastic fender62. I'm a big fan of Fleetwood Mac, and they wouldn't be the same without Stevie. Likewise, they aren't the same without Lindsey.
Fender - // singling out a few songs, like this one, but edge of seveteen, leather lace, gypsy to name a few are not about breakups.. //

But of trivia for you - Stevie got the title for Edge Of Seventeen when she was talking to Tom Petty's first wife, and Stevie asked her when she and Tom first met. "I was at the age of seventeen ..." said the at-the-time Mrs Petty, but with her very strong southern accent, it sounded like "I was at the edge of seventeen ..." and Stevie liked the phrase so much she remembered it, and it became a song.

Why do I know these things!!!!!!!!
andy, sounds like the posh celebrity bloke from the UK who was at Disneyworld and asked the American girl who was selling Mickey Mouse souvenirs, "do you have many?" (as he had a large family to buy for) and she said "no sir, only Mickey".
can't remember who he was, why did I remember that??? I guess that's trivia for you...
I rather like her voice.

No idea whether it's changed much over the years though, the radio stations I tune in to tend to play 60s, 70s, & 80s hits. (When I'm not tuned into jazz or classical.)
andy-hughes, mmm i like that bit of trivia, i remember when rumours came out, it was no stop on the radio, bit like bat out of hell was by meatloaf, both albums put me off for a few years, thne i heard steve's solo stuff and thought mmm a revisit is in order.
I always thought that Christine McVie was the more talented songwriter, but never got the recognition she deserved. Stevie never wrote a song as moving or heartfelt as Songbird
Just to answer Dave's ening question: No. She still has a fanbase and is still immensely popular. If folk are willing to fork out to see and hear her, all power to her bow.
"Stevie never wrote a song as moving or heartfelt as Songbird"

Apart from 'Oh Daddy'.
