On Britain's Got Talent, apart from superfluous intros and pratting about like idiots at the side of the stage, what's the point of them?

I don't mean generally, that's another debate, so I am asking specifically if they would be missed, if left out in future?

I think not.

What do you think?

Loose them.
What does Loose them mean please?

I can't stand them and won't watch anything they're in.
I thought they were a gay couple .

Not that there is anything wrong with two happy people
Totally agree. Too old now to be acting childish, not funny at all, I switch off.
Banality personified.
I can't miss what I won't watch, but it would be great not to see their smug faces on all those trailers ;)

I enjoy reality shows more without the presenters themselves, whether it's Ant and Dek or whoever, I've stopped watching most of them because of the hosts. I do find A&D the most annoying.
Like so many on television these days, they are over rated and overpaid.
Just cancel Britain's Got Talent.

Job done.
I like Ant and Dec on BGT. They make me laugh. I won't be watching again though after the poor excuse for entertainment that was Saturday's offering. Simon Cowell must be desperate.
BGT is what it is..light bubblegum entertainment that families can watch together..it doesn't claim to be cerebral .. there are other channels and buttons on your remote controls ! and Ant and Dec are marmite..love them or hate them they have found the successful formula !
Did you see it at the weekend Murray? I caught the end of it and was horrified - hardly family entertainment. A man who's entire performance was breaking wind.
kids just love that sort of thing Hoppy..I thought it just stupid and crass !
22.59 * I think he meant to say 'lose them'
They would not be missed. But they would be good presenters if they stopped their ego trip showing off routine.

I think BGT is the modern equivalent of Victorians gawping at the inmates of Bedlam.
I think the dynamics of presentation have been tinkered with over the years, and the defaults that companies seem to have settled for is - one for news, two for lightweight magazine programmes, multiple for sports.

It's not about 'need' rather than what fits the format, and that the viewers are comfortable with.

Hope this helps. x

Not really, it doesn't make sense.
We just avoid them. Lots of people love them. I cannot personally see why or what they have to offer. I think both BGT and Ant and Dec should both be exterminated!
