The Consultant Gastroenterologist looked very sheepish when he saw me in the recovery room. His opening words were ,"I don't know what to say". Probably because after a month in his ward two years ago I pleaded for a Colonoscopy because the symptoms I was feeling felt very much the same as when I had the onset of colon cancer several years previously. He then assured me I had no need for a colonoscopy and I wouldn't have an occurrence of cancer. They gave me loads of different tests over the month I was with them and given blood transfusions and drip fed antibiotics. After the month was up they admitted they couldn't find the problem and discharged me. After two years of suffering this problem my wife insisted we arranged for another consultation as it was affecting the quality of OUR lives. Now we watch this space. Thank you for your kind thoughts and wishes. Feel like I have been, literally, gutted today.
