The theme to the South Bank Show is one of Andrew Lloyd-Webber's Variations (of a Caprice by Paganini), played by his brother Julian.

It's a variation theme from Paganini's Caprice in A Minor - arranged by Andrew Lloyd-Webber and featuring his brother Julian on cello.
