...has died down, I have to say I only watched 10 minutes of Elton Johns' act. That was enough for me. I thought he was awful, which is a shame, as we all know what a great artist he's been over the years. I couldn't understand all the praise he received for his Glasto concert. The comments can only have been based on his past, not on this performance. There was definitely "The Emperors' New Clothes" element to the reviews. Yes, I know, I only watched 10 minutes, but he was struggling, so I switched off.

Only watched a bit of Elton (meh, exactly what you'd expect) but caught The Pretenders who were excellent - Chrissie Hynde still has a great voice and the band were great, particularly the guitarist, helped on a few songs by Johnny Marr.
I missed the Pretenders... I would've watched them... maybe on YouTube or something later. As for Elton what little I did see also, I did feel a little sorry for him giving his best.
Elton warmed up and was, for his age, excellent.
I would have accepted a half an hour set from Elton as a great tribute to him and a mighty farewell and then had a headline act. I switched off too once I realised he was the headline act!
I've seen him in the past being pretty grim but fair play, he rocket the middle classes.

His guests though were beyond terrible, especially the fat bloke in pink.
Though not a great fan, I quite like some of his songs and thought he did OK for a man of 76 years of age. Think about it - do you perform as well as you did when you were years younger?

Thanks for the replies folks. I honestly think people are being patronising towards him for his Glasto effort.
