The Times 28719
Just the one query from today's Times (This time I get the parsing, but don't understand the Definition). Parisian in grand lady's housing when queens have gone off, maybe? (7) E?D?A?E.
EN (Parisian in) D(G)AME (lady housing grand) but why "when queens have gone off, maybe?"

I had thought of that L-iK, but thought it a bit feeble. I remember a game of chess with my brother many decades ago, when he decided, very early on in the game, to take my queen with his queen which I then took in return. The resulting game took ages to complete and was, I felt, rather boring. But it didn't happen quickly.
