Do I Need A Smart Tv To Watch Amazon Prime Live Football?

We have a Prime account online, and recenly had our SKY TV box upgraded to SKY Q, which includes Prime video, but I cant see any way to log into Prime on my TV.

You don't need a smart TV.  You do need a subscription:

Assuming it is the same menu as ours, go to the Apps option on the main menu and select the Prime Video icon. You should be able to log in by using the remote control (awkward) or it may allow you to do it from your phone, by entering the code that appeaes on the TV screen.

Having a subscription to Sky or Virgin etc effectively turns your TV into a smart tv.

Hi all, thanks for the swift response, we have a monthly Prime subscription, I can watch live football on my PC, but I would prefer to watch it on my TV, in my comfy chair, instead of in my office on my PC.

If you have an Amazon Prime account (or maybe even just a Prime Video subscription) the App should be available to select via the Sky Q menu. You will see there are lots of Apps available there: or at least the icons for them, most of which you won't be able to log into.

yes log on to prime using apps on Sky Q.

The first time you do it you'll have to register the device, which is actually very easy: log in to Amazon on your phone to amazon.co.uk/mytv (or whatever the URL the TV prompts you for) and enter the code that appears on the TV screen.
