Going through my record collection I came across this one which I think is better than the original, anyone think there are better cover versions.

As good as Marvin's original is, I've always preferred this version.

We'll have to agree to disagree on that one.

I generally like those that are very different. Such as Mad World by Gary Jules. Or Big Daddy's Dancing in the Dark.

Beggin' by Madcon possibly?

Jo Cocker's version of 'Talking Back To The Night' is better than Steve Winwood's.

A good enough cover but not better than the original.

Bruce Springsteen does super versions of his own songs, but how about:

Patti Smith's version of Because the Night

and Manfred Mann's version Blinded by the Light

As good as Marvin's original is, I've always preferred this version.

Good call, Captain.

Johnnie Walker introduced me to that version, and it is better.

True Coldplay fans will disagree but I prefer this version of Yellow

I've watched the whole gig on YouTube that this is from; wish I'd been there, but I've always loved the saxophone and of course the amazing Candy.

And Lennon admitted it was better than his version.  It's superb imho.

21.32  totally agree

Hey Captain that is brilliant. I've never heard of Candy Duffer, now I'm in love with her.

Like NMA, I like covers where the cover artist puts their own take on the song.

Stevie is a good example of that.

And this from Frankie.

Hoppy, surely you remember 'Lily was here' with Candy duetting with Dave Stewart (Eurythmics)? It was in the charts; if not have a watch, but look for vids of Candy's live jazz sessions - awesome.

Thanks for posting that, Mozz. Holly Johnson was super gorgeous.

Francie also did good versions of Ferry Cross the Mersey and Do You Know the Way to San Hose.

I spend quite a bit of time watching unknowns doing covers.

Most who cover  'I don't wanna talk about it' attribute it to Rod Stewart (well, it is a good cover I suppose)
