No one is going to freeze to death. The country isn't going to go bust because of the Tories £22Billion black hole in the budget.
OAP Booze trips to Benidorm might be down in January, and the Government will borrow more money to plug the gaps, and the country will function as mormal.
Well I've never had a 'booze trip to Benidorm' for a starter. We shall struggle - and we have a well insulated house. There was a 28 hr. electicity cut this April and they brought us blankets and set up a burger van in the pub car-park - we were still freezing.

No doubt we do need to manage the economy tightly after Covid, Brexit EU retaliations, and the ongoing eastern European war, but the pain needs to be fairly shared not made worse for those groups picked on, because other poor decisions created further demands on the public purse.
i am not in favour of the winter fuel change but i find it highly suspicious that tories have all of a sudden learned this month that public spending cuts can have lethal consequences 🙄. where was this tory conscience over the last 14 years? you've just turned it on because labour are the ones doing it. you all turned a blind eye to the horrifying effects of austerity since 2010.
