Woke up this morning looking out onto Lake Winermere. It was a picture no artist could paint.  A little chilly but the sun managed to show through a little. The fishing was a little bleak but eh oh a nice couple of days.

Windermere

are you tenting in this weather???!!

Question Author

M/home nice and snug, to chilly for tenting.

Try Pitlochry, Scotland for scenery, beautiful.

Beware of floters

Daughter and granddaughter have been onthe shores of Loch Ness, monster spotting.  They saw strange waves that could not have had anything to do with a motor-boat which passed several minutes earlier.

They've had wonderful weather and a much needed break.

^^^ They borrowed a customised, small 'Bongo'.  Designed for one tough bloke, fisherman.  Somehow 13 yr old, 40-odd yr old and 2 spaniels fitted in !!!

We stay in the Windermere Hotel, fabulous views, a bit tired but it suits us.

Big fans of Pitlochry too. Love Britain, we used to travel, hike, walk and sail at every opportunity

I've stayed at TheWindermere too, Bary.  Great views.  Alas, at Pitlochry wecamped in the back of the hotel and the views weren't all that great!

Been to Pitlochry a few times very nice. Normally stop there a couple of nights then move on, then stop again on way back.

god if I did any of this, I think I wd die

Bad luck at Pitlochry, Jourdain.

We went self catering there whilst we explored the area.

I've just remembered the last time we stayed at The Windermere Shearings owned it. It was a daft price, dirt cheap. We didn't take the coach but there was ample parking.

You could die should you get lost and run out of food and water. But Google Earth always comes to the rescue. :0)

There is only  two  irrefutable facts in life. You were born and you will die, PP.

My pal and I went to Pitlochry to attend a fete/dog show for a local dog rescue and when we were there we met Hercules the Bear. 😆

Hercules was a legend - he used to live at the sherrifmuir Hotel

To be more accurate the sherrifmuir inn
