Wonder how similar it is to the one that went up in flames.

It looks a good job from the pictures.

How similar? well I would imagine they reconstructed using old photos and maybe even the plans.  However, even if you use old techniques (doubtful given the short time span) the finish will obviously look newer.  But then it would have been when it was built.

At least its done and wasnt bulldozed for flats or a Mosque.

I bet Mr.Bricolage was busy.

I can only agree with other ABers. I cannot find words to express my pleasure and delight at the quality of the rebuild.

I was lucky enough to visit it in the 1970s, and found it most impressive. So glad to see it restored, I hope fire safety has been improved.

it looks a lot brighter than it used to - I've dug out my old photos and it was rather darker and browner inside. Or maybe they've just turned the lights up more, of course.
