Good Morning Wednesday Birds.
Still pitch black outside - feels like the middle of the night! Could easily have just pulled the duvet up over my head and stayed there for the day. Need to have last parcels for Xmas in post today come what may so will spend this morning wrapping the contents etc... will feel loads better once they're done. Meant to be going food shopping this evening with MrSmow at a large supermarket of his choice - now considering I don't even remember the last time he did a food shop with me this should be interesting. And when I do I either shop online, or go to a local store, but no no no.... he wants to go to a huge one about 20 odd mins away at least. Oh well, let him have his way - am pretty sure after about 10 mins down the 1st aisle he will be screaming to go back home LOL !

Far nicer to open a bottle of wine, open the supermarket app and get the whole lot delivered. He must be mad.
I've got my supermarket delivery today and my butcher and greengrocer will deliver on the 23rd. I'll bob up to my local small supermarket on Monday to top up the milk and cream if necessary.
Going round a supermarket with OH is a big NO NO! Mr U takes me, gets a newspaper and disappears into the cafe. Suits me I get round in half the time without him.
Last night's train ride was great the lights were brilliant, bit spoilt due to the rain, mainly adults as it was the non Santa one. Your little grandchild will love it in a few years time, it goes from Paignton station.
Good morning Smow et al.
Since my driving ban, one thing I miss is supermarket shopping - I have to make do with deliveries (expecting one this morning) or a short stroll round to local mini-supermarket where the choice is decidedly limited, as is my carrying ability. But I know what you lasses mean because I used to spot recalcitrant male partners when supermarket shopping - they either amused or appalled me. One of the latter was when their child was pushing the trolley (as they love to, bless them) and being unable to see over the top collided with one of those exra display stands the supermarkets insist on obstructing the aisles with - unfortunately it held a selection of wine bottles which crashed to the floor, several of them breaking and wine went everywhere. Poor child was upset so Mum picked her up and comforted her but what did hubby do - ran away and hid in another aisle, bloody coward. I stopped and had a quick conciliatory word with Mum and Child which did cheer them up a bit. One thing which impressed me was the speed with which several staff descended on the chaos and roped it off and started cleaning it up promptly.
So ladies, if you want supportive/cheerful company in the supermarket, pop round to pick me up so I can do a "big" shop too, then bring me back home and we'll have a cuppa 😉
I haven't been round a supermarket for ages, the only advantage was that OH had to take his turn in paying. I must admit that I was a bit more of an impulse buyer for trying more exotic ingredients than him. Most of our groceries these days, thank goodness, are delivered. We are trying to keep things more simple this Christmas
The wind has strted to get up this morning, hope we are not in for another storm. Keep safe everyone
Morning all! I went with daughter and her partner to their huge Sainsbury's the other night...I got most of my steps in there! She was sending me to get things on her shopping list. She's a proper drill Sargent! I kept getting distracted by things my large out of town one doesn't have...never mind the city centre one. Though our 2 have clothes too. I know we'll be going to Waitrose and possibly Borough Market on the weekend.
That train ride sounds fun...I've not been to Totnes in ages. Love the quirky shops there.
