Anybody notice how relatively calm - not to say dead calm - the wind has been recently here in Britain. For months now - through the whole of this 'winter' it has been very quiet. I find this remarkable at two levels (1) It is very unusual. (2) Nobody seems to have noticed / remarked upon it.

It has been very windy in Reading these last few days, I can tell you. And I promise it's not the baked beans ;o)

Get yourself over to Morecambe, jimess...it's permanently blowing a bloody gale here!

He's certainly not been in the West of Scotland for the past few months.

I live in the Highlands of Scotland which has always been a fairly breezy place. I don't have any statistical evidence. Just seems to have been particularly quiet over the past few months.
