may be someone can help an old man with this: there is a song that has been in my head many many years now and i can't seem to figure out the name or who sing it. there is one line of this song that i think goes like this; so its my life, i can do what i desire; i do remember that the song was a soul song sung in the mid to late 70's and was on an 8-track tape.i'm putting this out there hopping someone can guide me in the right direction.thank in advance...grandpa

Not really a soul song as such, but Billy Joel's My Life released in 1977 basically has similar lyrics e.g I don't care what you say anymore this is my life, go ahead with your own life leave me alone etc. It's a great song. Or was it Shirley bassey's This is My Life? Hope this helps
