Favourite comedy song for me has to be Victoria Wood's Lets do it, it kills me everytime I hear it.
yeah that one is one of the funniest....but Russ Abbott used to be pretty good at writing comedy tunes too. I remember years ago there being a cassette called Russ Abbotts Madhouse or something like that

Kevin "bloody" Wilson

Some of his songs are great...all rude, crude, and lewd....but hey he is an Aussie

Oh Boo, i can't believe you said that. It is just THE funniest song ever written. Those lyrics are ingenious!!! I managed to download it not long ago. Fantastic!!! 'It would never have worked' is very good by Victoria Wood too!
have just listened to it and now i'm in a happy mood!!! Thanks
Benny Hill, 'I'll never know how a rose, can look so sweet and pure, and hold its head up high, while standing in manure'. he made some great ones but that was the best.

What about Noel Murphy's song 'Murphy and the bricks'

Brilliantly simple.

The Shirehorses. Mark and Lard at their finest.

Ah yes Marc and Lard

I cant listen to Angels, and Trouble anymore without thinking of the Shirehorses version

M: Right where are we up to? Budleigh Salterton!
L: Yeah, that's just outside Scotland.
M: It's absolutely no where near it, just turn the
van round and get be back.
L: Look here, Bideford, 4 miles.

Jake Thackray "On Again On Again"
Either Weird Al Yankovic, Bob Rivers (look for Twisted Tunes) or Tom Lehrer
..Ernie the fastest milkman in the west by benny hill, very sad infact if you listen to the lyrics...
I adore Ernie as well - the lyrics, the vocal inflections, the video - Benny Hill was a vastly under-rated wordsmith, and this is proof.

Poisoning Pigeons in the Park, by Tom Lehrer

The Naz by Lord Buckley

and the funniest record ever, Alice's Restaurant, by Arlo Guthrie

But I'm just an old hippie

The shout for Jake Thackeray On Again On Again is excellent also like his version of The Gorilla and just for plain stupidity "Don't Jump Off The Roof Dad" by Tommy Cooper
I'm surprised there's no Peter Sellers mentioned. Allan Sherman songs always make me laugh, especially "Mexican Hat Dance" and "Bye Bye Blumberg". Tragically, "Right Said Fred" by Bernard Cribbens never fails to raise a smile. The shame... . Oooh, "I Lost My Mummy" by Rolf Harris too. Double the shame...
