There is a song playing on Power fm in hampshire, which is a comedy carol about an angel stuck on top of a christmas tree, with the lyrics 'Who put the shoot up my hoop de hoop de hoop'. A kind of rock n roll song. Does anyone know who sung it and what it is called?

It could be a song called "Who Put The Bomp" but the words may have been changed. There seem to be a number of versions but one which sounds promising is by a group called The Viscounts.
