Publishing piano pieces?

If anyone can help me with this I'd be extremely grateful. I am a music graduate, and have just written a couple of short piano pieces, that I would love to get published/used in television/radio etc.

Are there any websites/places/numbers I can try to get the ball rolling on this? I am assuming there must be companies that deal with this kind of business, but have so far not been able to find any online. Many thanks for any advice.
