Mpg Music, mainly 50s to 70s: Legal?How?Where? Who?

If someone had a collection of MANY thousands of music mpg's ------all types from Heavy Metal to Cliff; from Francoise Hardy to Vicky Leandros; from Alan Jackson to Jimi Hendrix; from The Who to Stones to Beatles to Elvis--------would it be legal to sell collection ? And, if so, where and how would you suggest folks ? TIA

Almost certainly illegal, and we're not just talking copyright infringement but also piracy.

"Piracy" Jen---------surely you jest ?? From the 1950s, much of 60s; even 70s........nobody even knows if there is copyright ;and, if so, nobody knows who it belongs to anymore. A clip of someone singing from a long-disappeared TV Show ??? No, I think "piracy" may be more appropriate to folk who are ripping off "Pirates Of The Carribean" :)))))))))). But thanks-------any help and advice appreciated. I still haven't got a definitive answer: though I certainly welcome all opinions and thoughts.Thx to all..........:)
