Probably Queen with the wretched 'Bohemian Rhapsody'
Queen have only had a hit with Bo Rhap twice. But New Order have certainly had a hit with Blue Monday three times - different mixes, but certainly the same song - in 1983, 1988 and 1995. There may be other possible answers now that every dance record is routinely reissued with new vocals and remixes, but I'd suggest that's probably the one that whoever set you the question had in mind.
It was Westlife, but not many people noticed it was the same song...
"Merry Xmas everybody" by Slade its been released dozens of times so it must have been a hit i.e. top 40, at least a couple of times
Oooh! I'd forgotten about Merry Christmas Everybody. It's been in the Top 40 four times (once as a remix). So a valid answer... unlike Westlife who aren't a UK act!
On the New Order vibe, Joy Division's 'Love Will Tear Us Apart' hit the top 20 in 1980, 83, and 95, the last time being a remixed version.
The Moody Blues- Nights in White Satin
