I own a theremin and a didjeridoo but someone must have something cooler.

Please no insanley cliquey instrument messages, for example just guitars that we all know like flying Vs or whatever not model numbers and type of pickups. Although if you had one of Hendrix's that would beat anything.

I only own an alto sax. I've had it for about 8 years but only play it when I'm in the house on my own because I'm get embarrased about how poo I am.
I own a tiny harmonica, that's literally about an inch wide. It's so cool. I also own two kazoos. And some spoons.
I've a 1886 Mandolin and, Oh yes, a Jew's Harp (sometimes called a mouth harp)...

I own one of these guitars. Unfortunately, no photos seem able to capture the breathtaking beauty of the transparent red rosewood finish. This is my first reasonbly priced quality guitar which I had to wait quite a while to get, so I am undoubtedly biased.

I've got a normal diatonic ten-hole harmonica, but an inch wide is cooler I must admit. Mandolins are pretty rare and hence cool but a hammer dulcimer or a log dulcimer would be cooler. Any more instruments out there to top the theremin?
I have a set of Bruce Springsteen's guitar strings. Does that count?
A kazoo
Oh... I forgot to mention a pocket comb and a length of wax paper...
Well, I've got three saxes, and although I think they're cool, they're nothing unusual (apart from the C Melody, but that doesn't work yet).

I do have a c1910 Yacht Piano, a little 5-octave thing with a keyboard that folds into the main body. Only thing is, it can't be tuned properly and my very experienced tuner can only get so that it's at least in tune with itself - that's a tone lower than it should be and perfectly in tune with the tenor sax!

My hubby has the coolest stuff - a 1920s parlour drum kit and a pair oodoos (sp?), which look like big ceramic bottles, but have a hole in the side so that you can make 'booink, booink' sort of sound with them.
well thats nothing. i have a rolf harris original stylaphone.lol .beat that.
Sheffwed, looks like you've floored them with the Stylophone. I too am a proud owner of the 'phone which I won, 30 odd years ago, in a drawing competition being promoted by Rolf Harris himself.

My theremin is the same make as bill bailey's a Brian Moog Etherwave and when you play it through an effects pedal it sounds really cool.

On a side note does anyone have any idea how a theremin works.

I've reposted the how does a thermein work question in the science section.
