An Ipod can't directly drive your stereo speakers, but you can take an output from the headphone socket to your stereo amp (assuming it has an aux. input). Typically you would need a jack to RCA (phono) connector - which you can get from most shops such as Comet, Curries, etc.
A lead from the headphone out of your Ipod to either headphone in/ red and white RCA on your amplifier. Assuming the IPod has a standard headphone jack, these are easily available at any electronics store.

Get the most expensive leads that your budget will allow. You can really hear the difference between bog standard leads and really good quality ones when outputing from an iPod.
