password file in windows nt

does anyone here know how to acess the .pwl file in windows nt? also, does anyone know how to write a program in dos to automatically open the folder by running the program? i need to get back at someone who has been making my school life hell. thanx :-) thoma�

NT is far too secure to have anything like a .pwl list it is all encrypted in the registry. Also, in the target of shortcut of the program you can add strings to open up specific files or additional applications.

For Windows 9x/ME just search then delete *.pwl files. For NT/2000/XP find "ERD Commander" from kazaa (or buy it on-line) to create a bootable CD which will allow you to reset the local administrator's password. As a local administrator you should have the power to reset local user accounts/add remove PC from domain etc etc

in Win9x there are .pwl files, in NT the files to look for are the SAM, backup SAM, and the registry SAM which all contain the password hashes. Download a copy of L0phtcrack and knock yourself out... In fact there's all sorts of fun to be had, but nothing I'm going to discuss here...
