It's 'Hoots Man' by Lord Rockingham's XI.
is it not "a moose loose aboot this hoose", cos the Q above just doesn't sound right?! ( any Scots know what I mean!! )
Hoots Mon by Lord Rockingham's XI, Scottish male instrumental group, entered the charts on 24 Oct 1958, and stayed there for 17 weeks. It reached the No 1 spot on 28 Nov and remained there for 3 weeks until knocked off by Conway Twitty singing It's Only Make Believe. Hoots Mon catalogued as Decca F 11059. The Song contained some spoken Scottish which is why 'mouse' is pronounced 'moose'. Lord Rock's XI only other hit was in 1959 with Wee Tom (reached 16 in charts)
