I cannot find any info on the Limewire site. Simple question.....is it legal to share music by downloading from Limewire ? Seems too good to be true

Using Limewire or any other P2P file sharing system IS PERFECTLY LEGAL.
However, sharing copyrighted music is totally illegal and the authorities could prosecute, as you are allowing other users to download something which they should pay for, for free.

If something seems too good to be true , it usually is!
It is illegal but the chances of you getting caught are almost none and lets face it , something is only wrong if you get caught doing it - isnt it?

No, it's totally illegal. Bands hate things like that becuase it is obtaining their music and videos for free. However, as said before, there is an extremely low chance of being caught unless you inform the police yourself! But people have been known to be caught and charged thousands of pounds! Be careful.

and on the subject of ripping bands off. how long have the record industries been ripping off the public with extortionate pricings for cd's ? years i'd say. now the boots on the other foot they don't like it.

Yes it is unfair how the music industry have been ripping off sellers with high priced cds, but considering that so many people work so hard to make the cds as great as they are, they all have to be paid and if they sold them cheaper then so many hard workers would be paid little for the fantastic job they do.

It's illegal, but i recommend it.

So what about the music industry, it's a positive thing and sales have been rising despite this so called thievery.

The fact remains, if you like it enough you'll buy it.
