I notice more and more 80s electro/hip hop samples are being used these days. Missy Elliot recently used the Cybotron - Clear sample and theres a tune played now and then on radio one using the bass sample from Hashims' - Al Naayfish (the soul)

Sorry Deb - beaten to it but thanks for thinking of me - ive been out tonight and dived straight in when i got back by answering a question about an old Raydio track.
Didnt know the LL Cool track to be honest but am VERY familiar with the Bambaataa track.. It seems that LL has thrown loads of samples in there though so which bit are talking about?
The main sample is Looking for the perfect beat but there is also a bit Planet Rock in there aswell.

I agree with Gary that the majortiy of the sample is in fact Looking for the Perfect Beat and not Planet Rock (although it is featured) as indicated by Wikpedia? Just get a best of Tommy Boy records and all of these gems will be on there!
