A real longshot this! 20+ years ago I saw a subtitled French film on TV. It was about a male teacher, and I remember one scene where he was giving some of his girl pupils a lift in his car. They were smoking with the windows closed, and his smoke-filled car was stopped by a gendarme on a bridge. He opens the car door, knocking the gendarme off the bridge.

That's the only scene I can remember this far on, but it was one of the funniest films I'd seen.

Can anyone put a name to it based on thiswoefully brief description? :-)
