Does anyone regret getting rid of old LPs.
This is probably only suited to more senior ABers.
I used to collect "live" LPs and got rid of most of them. My biggest regret was to let Otis Redding singing "Satisfaction" go.
Anyone else feel the same?

Wish I had done the same!
I had double albums signed by Bob Dylan as well.
Yikes ... that'd be worth a bit
Kept all my LPs, but threw my record player out. Now i got nothing to play them on.
Like naz i have no regrets because i have kept all my records (even the 5h1t ones!) and still get a lot of enjoyment from them.
Saying that every so often i have to move them (several thousand of em!) and i curse having saved them all!
im with swansgal.......loads of vinyl but nout to play them on!
Im 23 and I collect vinyl from people like yourself who get rid of them not only are they worth a lot of money - I would hate to estimate how much I have but they are also more enjoyable to listen too. My B/F's dad sold all of his Led zepp and beatles vinyl at a boot sale for wait for the blasphemy around 5 a record - OMG, if I had known I would have beaten him senseless and bought them from him, tragedy. I love the sound of vinyl the crackling just adds to the feel of it all.
Well what can i say your a disaster rogerr lol,not being funny but whats happened to all your memories now.Every record wether it be 12" or album when you purchase it should hold a memory of that time you bought it so you have lost all yours. Is that not why we keep our vinyl so we can sit and play it wether it be a dj or just sat at home, some things just cannot be replaced and being a dj ive spent so much money on vinyl i would never play out its just to play at home for my own comfort.
God is the only person to help you rogerr and you know that....
I'm nowhere in naz's league, but I couldn't ever conceive of parting with any of my 650 LPs. My husband has another 300 or so. Many of my LPs are old Metropolitan Opera recordings that were never released on CD, so I'm verrrry slowly digitizing those on my trusty Mac to make sure there's a backup somewhere.

Surferdude makes a great point - even the albums I'm embarrassed to admit owning carry memories worth preserving. We've never consciously collected them - their purchases just grew organically out of where we were in various points in our lives. A plain vanilla Technics turntable, receiver and some very nice Polk speakers bring out all the colors.
Gave a lot of mine for brother-in-law to flog at car boot, to help him get pennies to move abroad. In hindsight, stupid thing to do. Still have a few hundred LP's. Record player knackered, last time I checked prices for a 'seperate' player the price was 250 :( When I do get one,the next step is to get a medium between it and PC that is dedicated to making digital copies, without,or with hiss and crackle if you wish. I still like to trawl charity shops for vinyl though
Was given some advice by a much older friend when I was a teenager - never give away music. I didn't heed him, and needless to say I really regret it. Now I'm spending money rebuilding a collection I had for pennies.
If any of you has a computer, you can buy very cheap programmes which will copy your LPs, and cassettes, clean the noise off them and transfer them onto CD.
Steinberg does one called 'Clean'...I know that, because I've got a copy! But, there are lots of others.
Ive been collecting vinyl since i got given a collection by my uncle that is to die for at 15 as he lost his hearing due to extream playing at high volume(no joke).Since then i have built it up to about 12,000 vinyl of all eras and types especially Pink Floyd and about most 60ties stuff. Then right through to the present day,all i can say is once lost it takes a lifetime to recover so think wise and dont even lend music even to your best friends,if they want it bad enough let them download it so the artists get there money, cause thats only fair...
So im sure your question is now answered-YES everyone regrets getting rid of old records..
Hope you get your collection back and uprunning soon my friend as life is too short for TV alone...
Take care
