The Toploader hit...someone did a 're-make' of it that was pretty much the same, except it had a scratch every verse, and some guy saying 'Here we go' every now and again...any idea who did it?

Wow! It actually sounds *more pointless* than Toploader, if that's possible!
... bearing in mind of course that Toploader's was a pretty pointless (i.e. note for note) cover version of the original hit from 1973, by King Harvest. (Note that was the original hit rather than the original version. It was first recorded by a band called Boffalongo in Ithaca, NY. They sank without a trace and were never heard from again.... which brings us nicely back to Toploader!)
